The Barrie CHC is a community governed organization with a nine (9) member Board of Directors, the majority of whom are patients of the BCHC and other members reflective of the communities served.  Staff and providers are not members of the Board.  Board selection from the interested patients and community members is made using a lived - experience matrix.

As a results based Board, the Barrie CHC’s by-laws and governance policies guide the work of the Board.  As the organization has evolved over the last 36 years, the Board is a policy governance Board (Carver model).
